Are the camera's waterproof?
The cameras are water resitant, they are generally fine when it is snowing
or raining. But should not be submerged in water or snow.
Are the DVR (Digital Video Recorders) waterproof?
NO! Please make sure that they are in a waterproof pocket or bag while
it is snowing or raining.
Is the equipment safe to use for extreme sports?
Reasonable measures should be taken to protect yourself from harm
in your chosen sport. If you are wearing the equipment ensure you protect
yourself from injury that might be compounded through wearing of the equipment.
Is it OK to mount the camera on myself and the DVR on a vehicle?
No! that can be extremely dangerous. Always make sure that the DVR + camera
are attached to the same object. i.e. if you have the camera on your person
make sure the DVR is in your pocket or in your rucksack.
Are the systems affected by cold weather?
Generally, you will not notice much of a difference provided the DVRs
are kept in a pocket or backpack. However if you are going into arctic
temperatures then expect battery life to be much shorter and possibly
malfunction.
Why do you only offer PayPal payments?
Security and ease of use. Its quick and simple to setup a Paypal account, and safe. You do not need to open a PayPal account to pay with a debit/credit card via their service.
Where have the systems been used?
Ed has personally used both systems on skiing trips in Finland, Lapland
and Andorra, Arinsal. He has not had problems with them. They have survived
crashes in Snowmobiles, and plenty of falls while skiing. These systems
are also used in Racing cars.
Who is Frosty Gear?
Frosty Gear is owned by E. J.J. Smith.
Can I create my own DVDs?
Sure why not! As the footage is already in a digital format simply, download it into your computer and load it into your software editing program, then burn your DVD - Simple. I use Adobe Premiere, but there are many others out there.
What is MPEG 4?
Mpeg 4 is a video compression standard that allows lots of data to be stored in a smaller file, with little loss in quality.

MPEG 2 is a video compression standard used for DVDs
Are you going to be selling other things? The plan is to expand the range of products offered on Frosty Gear specifically aimed at the snow sports and extreme sports markets.
